ZyCoV-D, the needle-less DNA vaccine is available for adolescents, according to a new report.

The Secretary of the Department of Biotechnology, Dr. Renu Swarup of the central Government, confirmed that it will take approximately four weeks to start vaccinating children between the years 12-18 with ZyCoVD.

He also added that the National Technical Advisory Group (NTAGI) immunization will guide the expansion of this new vaccine throughout the immunization program, according to the same doses available. “Only the DNA vaccine authorized for emergency use has been obtained. We have been told that it will take about four weeks to launch the immunization program and children will be immunized,”
